Bahrain, November 9, 2022, Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI) the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia’s leading Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organization, and flyadeal, the Kingdom’s everyday low-fare airline, have forged a new three-year comprehensive maintenance services agreement. The new agreement aligns SAEI and flyadeal on a pathway to develop future synergies and further growing the relationship. This agreement builds on the award earlier this year to SAEI of two heavy maintenance checks performed in Q4 2022.
The signing took place on the opening day of the Bahrain International Airshow at the SAUDIA chalet. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency, Ibrahim Al-Omar, SAUDIA Group Director-General, and executive team members from both organizations. The signatories were Captain Fahd H. Cynndy, CEO of SAEI, and Mr. Con Korfiatis, CEO of flyadeal.
Localizing aircraft maintenance within Saudi Arabia will enable flyadeal to realize future cost savings and drive efficiencies. For SAEI, this is an opportunity to compete with out-of-Kingdom MROs, demonstrating its ability to offer a winning service portfolio.
Captain Fahd H. Cynndy, CEO, SAEI, stated, “While SAEI is one of the longest established MROs in the region, its growth strategy is firmly future-focused and centered on seizing opportunities driven by innovation. This agreement is an indication of the positive momentum that we are seeing across multiple aspects of the Saudi aviation eco-system.”
